Introductory Workshops

The best way to learn to print is to make a print!

Cut Editions offers screen printing workshops aimed at those with no previous print-making experience and the more experienced printmaker. Workshops are designed to be fun and affordable for no more than two people.

Our four-hour workshops are an introduction to the screen-printing process. Each participant will make a print which covers many aspects of this process. All materials are supplied by the studio, and no preparatory work is necessary, just bring along yourself and your enthusiasm.

Workshop structure –

  •  Brief overview of equipment
  •  Looking at examples of prints
  •  Making artwork into transparencies
  •  Exposing artwork on to screen
  •  Washout / fix
  •  Proofing the print
  •  Printing

During the course we will also briefly explain about different paper types, mixing ink, over printing, printing to edge, multi coloured prints and making editions.
