Four ways of working with Cut Editions
Work on an artist/technician collaborative basis – you tell us what you want, and we help you achieve it.
For artists with more screen-printing experience, you simply take over the studio, and we give as much or as little advice and assistance as required.
You make the artwork (transparencies) and send it to us with a brief and we process them onto a screen, proof them and send you the images for approval before editioning.
Some artists have a screen-printing setup in their studio but not an exposure unit and backlit washout booth. A service we are very happy to offer is coating, exposing and processing screens so artists can make prints in their own studio.
Whichever of the above approaches are adopted, they all usually begin with a meeting to discuss every aspect of the project. This is held at Cut Editions studio. There is no charge for meetings and correspondence.
Fees
Preparing a screen – coating, exposing, processing, stripping – £50.00
Studio hire / technician charge – £35.00 per hour inclusive
Materials and studio time – final cost is dependent on type and quality of materials;
size of the edition and the time spent in the studio.
A detailed breakdown and estimate of costs based on initial meetings will be provided before commencement of the project.
